Honour Bands Coordinator
As an elementary school generalist, Marilyn Mann has taught all grades at the primary and upper elementary school levels, while remaining active as an advocate for music and youth. She has served as the co-founder and Tour Director of Canadian Youth on Tour, as Associate Editor of the Canadian Band Journal, as Counselor for the Red Deer Rotary Club Youth Exchange Committee, and on the Boards of the Red Deer Allied Arts Council, Culture Inc and Red Deer Symphony Orchestra. Marilyn began volunteering at MusicFest Canada on the Concert Band Stage in 1989 and has worked as a co-manager of the Canadian Wind Orchestra (formerly the National Concert Band) since 2002. Marilyn is an Honourary Member of both the International Band Masters Fraternity, Phi Beta Mu, and of the World Association of Marching Show Bands. In 2005 the Alberta Centennial Medal was conferred upon her.
